7 Reasons Inspiration Matters to Writers

     What is inspiration itself? It is some unexplainable force that appears from nowhere and disappears sooner than you can realize it, but despite the unexplainable character of this phenomenon, it is exactly what gets us moving towards our goals.

No matter if you are a marketing specialist, model or a businessman – inspiration is something all people need in order to achieve their aims and succeed! And for writers, this feeling is the key to success. In this article, we will tell you why it matters to writers, answer some of the most common questions, and give you a few tips on how to start the "golden age" of your writing career!

Why Does It Matter?
There is a popular theory that convinces us that real writers never wait for a muse to come from nowhere, they just try to focus and force themselves to work, which can’t be called true. It is inspiration that allows us to overcome all troubles, expand our limits and reach the results that have always seemed impossible to us. It lends us wings, gives more self-confidence, and makes impossible possible!

How to inspire people and yourself? The muse can be found anywhere and at any time as there are many things that are inspiring people – books, nature, music, meditation, sports, and pretty much anything else! But the main idea is to look for it! Thus, you shouldn’t stay passive and wait for your muse to come, instead, you should seek a muse in everything you see and do!

Why Finding A Muse Is Important For Writers?
  1. It transforms you into a creative writer from a usual reader. When you read a worthy book of your favorite author and, suddenly, you get a desire to grab a pen and start creating your own story – that is when you feel it coming! Thus, a muse turns reading into creative reading. Thus, find some motivation and inspiration articles created by the authors that inspire you or take a look at the list of motivational books and start creating your own masterpiece!
  2. It strengthens our feelings. For every author it is important to feel the story that he is writing and each its character, and this phenomenon will help you strengthen your feelings!
  3. It helps you continue working. Even if you feel exhausted and tired of everything, if you have no ideas and desire to write something, even in such situations, a muse can help you keep going and reach the desired results!
  4. It helps us understand the humans’ nature. Staying inspired means receiving great ideas all the time. Each person has a story to tell, and these stories can become a great source of this feeling because every person we meet helps us understand the humans’ nature better, which can contribute to making your characters more realistic!
  5. It strengthens the spiritual connection with your craft. All creative activities are somehow spiritual. As was mentioned earlier, you have to understand your characters and become a part of your own story – create a “spiritual connection” with what you are doing.
  6. It helps you recover. How often do you feel tired after writing another few pages? In fact, writers waste lots of energy on their masterpieces and thus, often lack emotional peace and organization. When it comes to difficulties writers can always browse this site indeed. Being inspired is a great way to become more organized, recover your energy, emotional and psychological resources that you have spent on your story.
  7. It teaches you to cherish every moment. Let yourself find something unique in every second of every day – in sky and sun, your family and friends, each season of the year – everything in our life is full of natural beauty! After you do this, you will learn to cherish every moment of your life.

Final Words
Being a writer assumes hard work and requires passion. Sometimes it may seem like a vicious circle – you have to be inspired to write, but you have to write to find a muse, and this is something you have to deal with on a daily basis. How to make everything simpler? To boost your creativity and enhance writing skills you should learn to get inspired from the simplest things that surround you. You have to be inspired by the life itself! Then you will be able to find brilliant ideas for your stories from everywhere – music, books, other people, nature, and most importantly – your own internal resources!

A Brief History of Esports [Infographic]

Brief History of Esports

   The gaming industry has blossomed over the past few years into a multi-million dollar business empire. This has a lot to do with eSports which has attracted fans, players and multinational sponsors to the business. But many will remember that this was not always the case.

Initially, the idea of pro gaming tournaments seemed absurd. How could you create a professional tournament with video games and expect it to be taken seriously? However, this question has been answered by prizes worth millions, thousands of live spectators and millions of online ones and brilliant online multiplayer games.

Take League of Legends Tournament for example. In 2016 it was broadcasted live in 18 languages and generated 396 million unique impressions online!

Games like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, DOTA, League of Legends and many others are now being played on local area network (LAN) and online without any tournaments. So whenever an official tournament takes place, the fans and gamers themselves are very much interested in seeing professional players showcasing their expertise and techniques in front of millions of viewers.

In 2015, eSports globally was able to earn US$325 million in revenue and increased it to more than $500 million in 2016. And now in 2017, it is expected to even go further. Learn more about it here in this infographic created by the good people at Computer Planet:

Top 5 Effective ways to Increase your blog Traffic in 2017

how to Increase visitors to your blog

Now here’s the fact, one of the Holy grail of blogging in Nigeria is the word “traffic.”
Traffic can either be paid or organic. For this article, I will be talking about organic traffic which is free and derived from search engines.

How do I drive traffic to my blog, how can I get traffic to boost AdSense click through rate, how can a blog generate thousands of readers monthly?

I’m sure you’ve asked yourself these questions before or while blogging.
Bloggers are driven by readers; readers lead to conversion, and conversion means more Return on investment (ROI) and Authority.

A simple analogy isn’t it?

But what happens if your blog is dry as the Kalahari, and little to no visitors come to your site from search engines. Well, that’s disheartening and can make you throw in the towel. Cause at the end of the day, whether you are in for the money or for the passion, you will like people to read your articles which serve as a morale booster.

Now here’s the bitter truth:
You are likely never going to drive thousands of traffic to your site if you keep using the same spammy techniques about that every one uses. There’s a silver lining to the situation and today is just perfect for you to learn some proven techniques to improve traffic to your blog for free!.

5 Effective Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Blog in Nigeria

Guest Post

This is perhaps the most overused technique and yet effective way of driving traffic to a blog. Not only will guest posting drive traffic to your blog, but it can help promote your brand.  It is like hitting two birds with a stone.

To leverage guest post as an effective traffic technique, all you have to do is reach out to a related blog in your niche and pitch a guest post request.

You can use the contact form to reach out to the admin and ask for a guest post.
Before you write a post for a blog, make sure what you write is well researched, compelling, authentic, engaging, and it’s not lifted from the internet.(Plagiarism free)

Blog Commenting

Do you know you can drive readers from blog commenting? But wait, Don’t run off to start posting comments sporadically on every blog you find. Blog commenting is only effective when you use it the right way.

First off, driving traffic through comments is possible if a blog provides a field where you can insert your URL after you drop a comment. So all you have to do is find a blog related to your niche and drop a comment; a useful comment that’s related to the topic. After the comment gets accepted, the username you use will be clickable. The chances are that if you drop an insightful comment, people will click on the link to visit your page.

Be Active in Forums

Forums like Nairaland can drive thousands of traffic to your blog in a day. You don’t believe me? Then go and check the articles on the front page of Nairaland. You’ll notice that most of the articles on the front page are viewed by thousands of users that visit the site.

What’s more? Most of the posts on the front page contain a link to the original source. This sends thousands of referral traffic to your blog with little effort. To increase your chances of getting to the front of Nairaland, post articles that are likely going to go viral. Be the first to post about a recent event; there’s a 8 in 10 chance that your post will be featured on the front page. Be careful not to get out of the way and write a fake post to get attention as it can get you banned from the forum.

SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the the most simple part that’s mostly misunderstood by the Gurus and newbies as well. With every Google algorithm, comes significant changes to SEO.

Search engine optimization is arguably the most important factor to drive organic traffic to any site.
Prior to Google rank brain, all you had to do for search engines to understand the topic of your post was to stuff keywords in the article. That technique is no longer effective as it can make Google Penalize you.

Many SEO analyst advice that main keywords in an article shouldn’t be more than 1%. Although this number is relative, which means there’s no accurate number of keywords you can mention in an article.

For example, if your articles are about the Best Smartphones, try to mention the keyword at the begging, middle and end of the article.
There’s more to SEO than just keywords, to know more about optimizing for search engines read authority blogs like Quicksprout.com, HubSpot page, neilpatel.com, ogbongeblog.com, etc., and various posts on this blog.

Giveaways/Blog Contest

The best things in life are the things we get for free. This saying holds true for blogging as well.

Giveaways are traffic magnets, and you can get loyal readers that always stick around in case there’s something to give out. A blogger that leverage giveaways is Misstechy, and it’s evident how people flock around the blog for the chance to win a prize for a catch. You have to share the giveaway on social media to increase the possibility of winning. Many People will share the post on social media which leads to more exposure to your blog and in the process, gain followers to your blog.

Finally, if you have more ideas and suggestions on how to get free traffic, kindly let us know below in the comments section.

Sad: GLO has Increased subscription Price on most Data plans

what is Glo new price for data plans

  Our dear GLO which has always been giving us a slight value for our money via Data plans have just decided to break our hearts. Today, they made an update and slashed all data plans by half but retaining the same price. The Data plan that ₦2,500 used to give which was formerly 10GB has been reduced to 5GB. Even after their Network service has worsened, they still decided to do this!

ALSO READ: How to check the people sharing your Glo Data plan with you

Below are the former Glo data plans and the prices

N1000 = 3.2GB
N2000 = 7.5GB
N2500 = 10GB
N3000 = 12GB

But from today, we'll be seeing the prices below

N1000 = 1.6GB
N2000 = 3.75GB
N2500 = 5GB
N3000 = 6GB

All these above are monthly subscription which would be valid for 30 days. The data code still remains *777#

With this new development, their prices are similar to MTN data plans. Will you still stick with them?

How to see the people sharing your GLO data plan with you

See who is sharing my data

Sharing of Data plan with family and friends can be nice until someone takes your phone and adds himself without your consent. We have to admit that checking our data balance later can make you start thinking if those sharing your data with you are drinking it. Lol. I vividly recall the time Glo Network totally vanished so I had to switch to Mtn, only for me to switch back to Glo after some days to notice some gigabytes had gone. It was the people sharing my data with me.

ALSO READ: How to Subscribe to GLO 1GB Night Plan for N200

Now, we already know the steps for adding a Glo number to our shared list by dialing *777# and following the prompt commands. But there isn't any option to check your shared list other than just sharing and unsharing. Now, I'll disclose a simple USSD code to view the numbers currently sharing your data plan with you.

HOW TO SEE THE PEOPLE SHARING YOUR GLO DATA

  • Simply dial *127*00# from your Glo number and the list would be displayed to you.
