EBSU Bursar sacked, 2 ASUU Leaders Suspended – The Reasons will shock you

Ebsu on-going strike continues 2016/2017 
The Bursar of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) Chief Ngwuta was on Wednesday 19th October 2016 relieved of his Appointment with Immediate effect by the state Governor David Umahi
Along with him, The Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Prof Ndubuisi Idenyi and his Predecessor Prof Emeka Nwakpor were SUSPENDED for Misconduct.

According to the Governor, the reason for terminating the Appointment of the Bursar was because his Re-appointment did not Follow Due process.

“When I asked the school management, they said he was only Re-appointed and that Re-appointment is normally Done through the school senate and management. But I disagree because Re-appointment is also a form of Appointment and since the visitor made first appoinment, he should also be informed and his accent sought for his Re-appointment . The law talks about appointment and only mentioned Re-appointment once”.

When Asked His Reason for Suspending the two ASUU Leaders, he accused them of misinforming the lecturers on what transpired at the meeting they held with him on Monday over the strike action embarked upon by the union.

When Asked ABOUT the ON-GOING strike,the governor further said the state government will adopt no work no pay if they refused to heed the government’s call.

He directed the freezing of the accounts of the school until the lecturers resume duties.
